Road Trip to Savannah – Part 3

Our third day in Savannah was one of the best! We spent sometime in Target which is always a must for me when I travel to the states and in the evening we took a Haunted Pub Crawl. Now if you know anything about Savannah you must know that this is one of the haunted cities in the states so taking a haunted tour while you are there is a MUST! I highly recommend the Creepy Crawl (savannahtours.com) our guide was the owner and founder of Savannah Tours and he has some great ghost stories to tell about the four different pubs/hotels you go into. The great thing about the crawl is where no young kids on it and the city of Savannah has a law that you can drink on the streets as long as your cocktail or beer is in a to go cup. This is pretty awesome in my option.

Needless to say day four in Savannah was spent in bed. I clearly had way too much fun on the creepy crawl and didn’t realize how much I had drank the night before. So New Years Eve was spent in bed for the most part watching American Television which is disturbing on so many levels. For one the fact that advertisements are created just for kids makes me angry, you really see how cooperate is starting kids off at a young age to be consumers. Granted you see this in Canada as well but just not to the degree as in the states. Another interesting thing is that you can name your competition in your advertising, a great example is the advertisements going on between Verizon and AT&T there were 3 different advertisements that contradict the competitors leaving the consumer confused and not sure who has the best coverage.

After spending all day in bed I finally felt up to getting out of the hotel room and getting some dinner because after all it was New Years Eve and we wanted to start off the new year with a bang! We got ourselves all ready to go out and headed off to Corleone’s Trattoria (44 MLK Blvd.) to enjoy some great Italian cuisine and then it was off to the beach on Tybee Island to bring in the New Year in peace on the beach. The moon was full and the clouds where moving at a fast pase so it made for some interesting lighting, you add some fire works and it made for a perfect New Years evening.

{the photo may be blurry but the view was amazing with the full moon and the fireworks}
