Road Trip to Savannah – Part 4
It’s the first day of a new year and a new decade and it feels great! Paul and I had been so good with our spending on our trip that we had $400 extra to buy ourselves the YuDu (whatdoyudu.com) screen printing machine that we have wanted for sometime now to start up our own screen printing/design company. Getting this machine 3 months ahead of schedule really was the best way to start of this new year/decade. After picking up this great present to ourselves we headed over to the shop SCAD (340 Bull St.) here you can pick up some amazing and affordable art work from students of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Out of the few art galleries/shop we went to this was by far my favorite they have a variety of different styles of paintings, jewelery, clothing and paper goods and the inspiration you draw from this store is simply amazing.

{guy playing some great jazz in Johnson Square}
{view of City Hall just off Johnson Square}
{the beautiful Lucas theater}
{The Olde Pink House, which we are told has amazing food and is haunted}
Our last evening in Savannah was spent walking around the streets seeing all of the squares at night that all have a great statue or monument in them of an early explorer or a founder of a church or organization all with interesting history linked to them. The Cathedral of St. John (on Abercorn St.) is a must see at night, as is the Colonial Park Cemetery (right beside the Cathedral) which is apparently haunted with ghosts. After walking around all evening we called it a night as we had a long day of driving ahead of us.

{a Jewish church just off a square. everything looks just a little creepier at night}
Saying Good-Bye to Savannah was hard as I think I could have stayed for another week or two because of the calm, friendly atmosphere Savannah radiates. But it was time to get back to reality, work and the snow so off we traveled up north. We managed to do drive pretty much the whole east cost of the states in a nice long 23 hour stretch. We got home in Montreal at 5:00 am exhausted but greeted by our own comfy bed.
I hope you enjoyed reading about our trip to Savannah and might one day get there yourself.

It looks like you both had a great time! I really want to go to the Olde Pink House, because seriously, how cute is that building?! Looking forward to seeing your new screen print products, too :)
