Coeur de Pirate & French Classes

With being with a man like Paul who is so talented and comes from such a rich cultural background I have been lucky enough to be introduced to many wonderful and talented artists that as an Anglo I may of not ever heard about and Coeur de Pirate no exception. Coeur de Pirate was playing a free outdoor show at Francofolies this year and although it was raining outside there was no hesitation when Paul asked me if I wanted to go to the show.

Now I really have only heard a handful of her songs before the show but I fell in love with this artist. She has a beautiful, innocence to her voice and although I do not always know what she is singing about one thing I do know is she is talented and paired with some amazing musicians alike. The show was breathtaking, she had me swaying my hips, laughing and clapping my hands. It is no wonder that she not only has huge success within Quebec but also is signed to a huge label in France.
Even if you are not fluent in French I strongly advice that you check out her music.
On a slightly different note I have finally registered for French classes!!! Above is my new school. I know I have been in Montreal for almost 3 years and have been with Paul (my French man) for almost 2 years and I still only speak very limited French, like ordering breakfast and basic greetings. I have always been so nervous to take French classes as I took one when I first got to Montreal and it didn’t help me at all, plus it is so easy to get along in this city without speaking French. As an Anglo that is wonderful but for the French culture it is sad because the language is slowly dying. As I plan to spend the rest of my life with Paul I figured it would be best that I am not part of the problem of this beautiful language slowly dying within Canada but embrace this beautiful language to be my own.
I found this intensive conversational French class at Dawson College which is only a 25 minute walk from my house and I signed up! I am not nervous to take this French class, where in the past I was but instead I am really excited to start and meet some new people. The first level is 3 weeks Monday to Thursday 9 am to 12pm and lucky for me I have the best French tutor.
