Sponsoring
I have been thinking about adding sponsorship to my blog for sometime now but with the process of getting real with my financies I found that I was coming up short every month which means something must be cut from my already barebones budget. The only none necessity that I have left to cut would be my sponsor child K-miga who I have been sponsoring with Compassion Canada since 2001.
Now you may ask ‘What does it mean you sponsor a child?’
It means that for the past 10 years I have been making monthly financial contributions to the education, health and development of K-miga. Along with writing her letters & sending gifts in return I receive letters & drawings from K-miga and have watched her grow into a beautiful young women.
I thought I was going to have to give up sponsoring K-miga but her lastest letter I received after her 16th birthday had a line in that flashed me back to my own youth ‘I am an adult now. I am not happy about it because I do not want to be an adult. It discourages me sometimes but my lovely mother always encourages me.‘ Life is never easy growing up no matter what part of the world you grow up in but one thing is you always need some consistency. If I where to stop sponsoring K-miga she would no longer be able to go to school and would have to join her parents as part-time labourers usually in the rice fields. I started working at 16 years of age but I was lucky enough to be able to go to school while doing so & than be able to go to university. For K-miga turning 16 means she really is an adult. Which usually means marriage and children will soon follow. To only help break half of the cycle she is in just doesn’t do it for me.
This is where I need your help!
I am calling out to all my lovely readers or people just stopping that would like to help me help K-miga. We all like a little exposure to our little piece of the cyber world and I would love to help!
100% of the sponsorship money goes towards my monthly sponsorship of K-miga. I am not trying to make money off K-miga but trying to keep our bond intact and hopefully helping her break her families cycle. Below is a break down of

F.A.Q.
You may ask ‘Why can you not pay for this all on your own?‘.
Well as I want to help K-miga with her dreams, I am following my own. That of which has lead me back to school for Web Design & Publication and I am working as a Freelance as a Web Designer(since I’ve been in the ‘business’ for 4 years. Let’s Chat if you need some work done!
This has left my pocketbook quite empty but THANKFULLY my AMAZING boyfriend Paul has been financially paying for the two of us to live and constantly encouraging me & helping me pursue my dreams.
I guess you can say I want my cake and eat it too, but can two people not pursue their dreams as the same time?
